How to Increase Your Drive Power

Everyone wants to hit the ball farther. The one club that gets the most attention from golfers is the driver. Almost every golfer wants to hit the ball farther, straighter or just better with the driver. There are tons of golf magazines that put out tips each month on the best way to improve your driving game.

There are companies that want to sell you gimmicks and tricks that will increase the performance you get from your driver. Some of them are pretty far out there but some seem legit. The problem is that there's only one way to increase the power you get from your driver. Club head speed is the only thing you can increase to hit the ball farther.

You can spend hours with a coach hitting thousands of golf balls on the range. You can read every tip, try every gimmick or own the best driver in the world and you still won't hit the ball with more power if you don't have faster club head speed. The only way to achieve that faster club head speed is to increase your core body.

The center of your body and all the muscles in it are the engine that drives your golf swing. If they are weak and inflexible you're going to have a hard time hitting the ball with more power. Pulling the club back and swinging through the ball is a pretty simple task. Being able to do that with more power requires that you work on your core body off the golf course.

Get yourself set up with a trainer that specializes in increasing core strength and work on getting a program for yourself. If you can't afford a trainer or can't find one then look online for tons of videos and articles that will help you produce your own fitness program.

If you're unsure where to start you can look into different Yoga programs. Yoga is one of the best types of fitness programs that a golfer can get involved with. Not only does it strengthen your body but it also helps you become more flexibly. There are also many different types of Yoga that help you to clear your mind and focus on specific things. This can be very useful for when you're under high pressure situations and need to be able to focus on the shot at hand.

All of this is the ticket to hitting the ball with more power from your driver. Stop getting frustrated on the range after hitting a few hundred balls and wondering why you're not hitting it any farther. If you don't work on your fitness you won't have the core strength to bring that club head speed up.
